K‐means cluster analysis of characteristic patterns of allergen in different ages: Real life study

Background Atopy varies in people of different ages owing to physical conditions and exposure allergens. We aimed cluster based on atopic severity using K-means analysis identify incidence, severity, as well the association among peripheral eosinophils, IgE sensitisation. Methods Consecutive patients (n = 7654) with allergic symptoms undergoing allergen-specific tests were included from 2013 2017. Age, sex, specific-IgE, eosinophil counts total-IgE collected. Results Five age categories identified: 1–17, 18–36, 37–52, 53–69 70–100 years. The incidences atopy poly-sensitisation decreased increasing age. Similar trend was observed for aeroallergens, egg milk but not peanuts, soy or seafood. Dust mites remain crucial factor bothering symptoms, especially children adolescents. In aged <52 years, sensitisation aeroallergens more prevalent than food. group 37–52 incidence females' higher that males. overlap atopy, high found only 19.18% patients. allergen-test positivity is parallel total counts.
